Augustine's room is the most informal room in the house, furnished with miscellaneous pieces simply painted ivory, typical of a post-Victorian summer-time décor. This object is an ivory colored wooden chest of drawers with a detachable mirror on arms at top. Stands on four tapered square legs with metal wheels on bottom. Five drawers with two metal handles on left and right sides. The bottom four drawers have keyholes in the middle. The front of the chest has a wave shape to it. The top drawers has a raised relief on it. The border of the mirror has raised dot detail.

Ivory colored wooden rocking chair with a stuffed seat cushion (attached) of multi-colored striped fabric. Stripes are yellow, brown, and green. 9 vertical slats in back of chair. Base support slats create a square underneath the seat. Has two thin arm rests.

American Eastlake ivory painted chest of 3 drawers. Each drawer has two metal handles on the left and right side with a keyhole in the center. They each have a horizontal ridge detail across the middle. Top drawer is slightly more protruded than the lower two. Chest is supported by four metal wheels on each bottom corner.

Wooden dressing table, painted an ivory white. Stands on 4 rectangular, tapered legs with metal caps at bottom. One long drawer across front with raised relief decoration. Metal handles on the left and right sides of the drawer. Table has a mirror attached to two vertical arms. Border of mirror has raised dots. Arms that support mirror are similar to legs of table; have two metal knobs where the mirror is attached.

Wooden desk chair painted ivory. Seat-back has 9 vertical slats as back support. Seat has cushion with pink flower pattern inside ivory diamonds. 2 pairs of stretchers on bottom, one pair goes from front to back and the other pair goes from side to side. No arm rests.

Neoclassical design, twin-size pine bed painted yellowish-tan with panel headboard and footboard. Head board has finial on each post, turned with pointed top and floral relief on front of each post. Footboard has flat post with similar relief on post. Head/Foot board attached on either side with wood panel. Bed legs on metal and wood wheels. Mattress and boxspring may be original. Footboard post appears to be altered, possible finals were removed (?). Curatorial Binder Notes (1987): Refers to matching bed, in storage in closet.

Dark carved wood Chinese-influenced plant stand with four S-curved legs ornamented with floral motif. Similar decorative spandrel panels connect to legs and are cross-braced in two places with plain and carved dark wood. Circular wooden top decorated with carved beading. Appears to have been used as a plant or flower stand with appropriately-sized jardiniere on top.

Six drawer marquetry Empire-style clothes chest with two sets of circular brass-and-ring drawer pulls and similar key holes and surrounds on each drawer. Metal-banded columns with full entasis at each end of front of chest. Panels with classical dancers (Terpichore?) in pressed brass adorn heads of columns. Pressed brass bands ornamented with roses and leaves at top of each column. Drawer fronts are decorated with floral and foliate images in marquetry. Ends of chest decorated in similar fashion with addition of stylized birds and large urns. This desk chair or open-sided armchair is wood with marquetry inlay. There is a serpentine form silk fabric seat cushion covered in dull gold fabric embroidered in a tone-on-tone floral pattern. The back of the chair is a carved single slat which creates identical negative spaces on either side. Inlay designs on the central back splat are of birds, patterned flowers, urns, and a mermaid-figure caryatid. The chair's front legs sit on claw and ball feet. The front legs are incised with a leaf-like veining. Vanity with inlaid marquetry designs around the oval mirror, along the vanity top and bottom shelf, on drawer fronts and sides of vanity and down the turned legs. The 1987 Sotheby's appraisal refers to this piece as a Dutch marquetry dressing table and dates it to circa 1900. The oval mirror swings on S-form supports which are fitted with urn finials. The frieze containing two drawers and raised on round legs is joined by a concave fronted shelf inlaid with birds and flower urns. Drawers have metal pulls. Vanity stool with curved handles/ legs. Wood veneer with marquetry inlay along handles and down legs and along cross pieces on all four sides. Seat is covered with gold brocade fabric which is very worn. The Sotheby's appraisal refers to this piece as a Dutch marquetry stool.

Desk or side chair with Dutch Wood Marquetry (light woods against dark). The curved toprail has an urn and tulip flower pattern . Some peg construction. Brass brackets supporting back of chair. D-Shaped seat, fabric, perhaps silk with embroidered design. Chair may be associated with the desk (1976.1.1329) it sits next to.

Slant front desk. Dutch walnut-ground wood, marquetry (light woods against dark) chair. The slant front has a bird, flower-filled urn, flower stems. Brass fixtures (hinges, knobs). One larger drawer outside. When top is folded down the desk has four small drawers and pigeonholes. Cabriole loges ending in ball and claw feet. Desk may be associated with the chair (1976.1.1328) it sits next to.
