Dark carved wood Chinese-influenced plant stand with four S-curved legs ornamented with floral motif. Similar decorative spandrel panels connect to legs and are cross-braced in two places with plain and carved dark wood. Circular wooden top decorated with carved beading. Appears to have been used as a plant or flower stand with appropriately-sized jardiniere on top.

Marble dust composite or bisque bust of a woman. Center-parted wavy hair gathered at nape of neck in a classical fashion. Coiled drapery below shoulders, also classically inspired. The inscription "CLYTE," the name of an ancient Greek mythological figure, is carved into the bottom of the bust. The British Museum has the original of this bust in its collection, which is catalogued as "Clytie." Minton and Staffordshire both made reproductions of the bust. It's not clear which maker crafted the one owned by Blithewold, but it appears the production date is about 1881, based on the British Museum website.

Bed, four poster with canopy top, oak. Square feet. Italian decorative style. Said to be constructed with old panels. The flat-top molded cornice with dentil edge, carved medieval "Grotesque" mask on end, and raised on flared, fluted posts. Lower rails are carved with grotesque head masks and stylized escutcheons. Medici Crest carved into bottom rail at foot end. Gold colored silk lambrequin (1976.1.1786) or canopy top. Low carved headboard. Light with silk shade at head of bed.

Queen Anne oak carved rectangular table with 4 trumpet turned and block legs and an "H" stretcher underneath. Rectangular molded overhang top above frieze drawer with turned wooden pulls and metal key hole. Put together with nails and pegged holes.

Charles II style oak stool, rectangular seat pierced with Fleur de lis carved design. Raised on spiral twist and block legs; metal screws.

This is a daybed described by Sotheby's as:"James I style oak daybed. The flared ends with entrelac panels and raised on leaf-carved block supports ending in tortoise feet." Both the inner sides of the flared ends are carved with circular designs and the side panels are carved with geometric patterns. This daybed was located in front of the fireplace in Marjorie's room and was used by George Lyon.

This is one of two mahogany side chairs. They have a curved and carved back frame, straight back legs and curved front legs with no stretchers. The wide front seat panel is veneer. The seat is upholstered; the fabric is not original.

This is a Federal style side chair with straight legs and side stretchers only joined by a single center stretcher. The back has a delicate cut design with a carved daisy in the center. The seat is rush.

This is a tilt-top table made of dark stained wood. The top is designed as a rectangle with cut corners and curved sides. The pedestal base mirrors the shape of the top and sits on four feet carved with a stem and leaf design. The pedestal is turned. There is a diamond carved in the top with a carved flower in the center.

This is a Federal style side chair with straight legs and no stretchers. The back has three elongated ovals with carved tassels between them at the top under the top rail. The flame wood grain is evident in the rails around the seat. The upholstered seat is removable.

This is a Federal style side chair with straight legs and side, back and center stretchers. The front legs are grooved. The back has a shield shape and a feather and drape design. The seat is leather mounted with metal tacks.

This is one of two wooden side chairs with upholstered seats. The top of the chair is carved with a shield and leaves and the front panel and tops of legs are carved with flowers. The chair is of inferior quality. The carvings and the finishing are rough. The seat fabric is well worn and of casual style.

This is a Federal style chair with an oval back which has a carved insert of leaves, urn and columns. The edge of the oval is beaded. The legs are straight and the front legs are fluted. There are carved corner inserts behind the legs. The upholstered seat is trimmed with braid.

This is an Indian carved and pierced hardwood three chair-back settee with an upholstered seat. The arms are carved as a lion's head with a long tongue. The back of the settee is carved with three different figures. The frame and legs are also intricately carved. The wood is very dark and hard, possibly rosewood or teak. The seat is covered with gold brocade. The settee is ensuite with an armchair and two side chairs.
