Item 03 1976.1.A058.03 One Line A Day Journal 1904-1908 This item is a daybook designed for brief daily notes in lieu of a full diary. Bessie McKee began entering notations on January 1, 1904. The first entry was typical of many entries, for example where members of the family were located, weather, list of visitors, daily activities. Entries were consistent throughout May 1904 then became more occasional. There were some entries in 1905, none in 1906. May 25,1907 began regular entries (pg.76) which included notations about the building of Blithewold II. August 19, 1907 notes that the cornerstone was laid. (pg.119). An entry on April 30,1908 notes that Augustine selected a wallpaper with little birds for her new room.(Pg.64) Only pages with entries are listed below: Title PageWard's Line A Day Book, A Condensed Comparative Record for Five Years. Individual pages are divided into two days of the year, with each day divided into five years. Dimensions: 8.5" long x 6.75" wide x .75" deep. Pages are aged. |
