Program for a performance by Mlle. Anna Pavlowa. Her repertoire, printed on page four, includes twelve dances: FLORA'S AWAKENING, WALPURGIS-NIGHT, ORIENTALE, THE GHOST KING, THE MAGIC FLUTE, INVITATION TO THE DANCE, PUPPEN-FEE, AMARILLA, PAQUITA, LES PRELUDES, THE DANCE OF TO-DAY, and GISELLE. The cover is green heavy stock paper with a color photograph of Anna Pavlowa en pointe; a printed frame in slightly darker green than the cover surrounds the photograph. MLLE. ANNA PAVLOWA is embossed in the lower right corner. A full-page photograph of Pavlowa appears on page three; her signature appears below. The program is printed in green ink and the photographs appear to have a green cast. Several photographs of Pavlowa appear throughout the program. On page eight she is pictured in her London home surrounded by bouquets of flowers "after the gala performance at the Palace Theatre when King Alfonso, of Spain, presented the distinguished artist with a diamond-and -ruby bracelet designed to be worn about the ankle." Page 11 features a print of The Bacchanale drawn by Malvina Hoffman. The program includes a synopsis of the dances of the performance. An advertisement for Steinway & Sons appears on page 20. |
