Box 1976.1.P061 Boating Activities FOLDER 06 (1976.1.P061.06) SAIS Sais was the motorized launch used by the Van Wickle and McKee family to transport family and guests to the larger boats at anchor. Photo# Photo Description 01 Photograph of Launch Sais moored in harbour, American flag and yacht club flag flying. 5.0 W x 4.0 H, good condition, stains along right side. 02 Photograph of Sais at Blithewold dock with family and friends in foreground in canoes. Dark shadow, possibly overhang at top of picture. Slight fading on right side, discoloration along bottom edge. 4.0 W x 3.0 H, fair condition. 03 Photograph of Sais motoring, 4 people on board, flags flying, sailboat visible in background. Good condition ,some fading. 5 5/8 W x 3.25 H. 04 Photograph of 3 canoes off Blithewold shore 2 canoes near shore, each with 1 person; third canoe further out with 2 people. Good condition, 5.75 W x 3.5 H. 05 Large sepia print of Marjorie Van Wickle Lyons with friends on Sais. Visible are 5 friends surrounding Marjorie, flag flying at stern, wicker chairs and canopy. 10.0 W x 8.0 H print mounted grey construction paper and black poster board, 15.0 W x 13.0 H. Print is in fair condition, stains around edges of print, poster board 'frame' had broken edges, missing upper left corner. 06 Large sepia print of Sais and a second boat washed up on shore as a result of a storm. Both boats are on their sides, upper structures are damaged and broken, there is considerable wood and debris scattered on the shoreline. Homes and trees visible in background. Print is 10.25 W x 8.25 H mounted on black poster board frame with Anderstrom engraved across lower right corner. Poster board is 15.0 w X 13.0 H and in good condition. |
