The text reads as follows: 018a:ARMS OF THE DESILLE FAMILY Nicasius de Sille 3rd was born of illustrious ancestry in Arnheim, Holland, in 1610. It appears that a photo of the coat of arms was intended for this space.] 019a:as lawyer and statesman, and was also an author of note. He brought five children with him from Holland of whom Geradina de Sille, born in Amsterdam in 1642 was the third oldest. She married Johannes van Couvenhoven of New Amsterdam. From this union Marjorie van Wickle Lyon and Augustine van Wickle are descended. The Bible of Nicasius 3rd 019b:Blank 020a:published in Arnheim in 1614, has remained in the possession of the Couvenhovens and is now owned by a descendant living in Baltimore. In it are recorded the names of successive owners since Nicasius 3rd. The armorial bearings as seen in the banner at "Blithewold" were taken from the coat of arms in the de Sille Bible. 020b-041a:Blank |
