This section of pages from the Blithewold Wooden Album describes the furnishings and accessories in the Master Bedroom. This room is referred to as "Own Room" in the album. Each page is described below. The text pages are transcribed exactly as they are written. The objects which remain in the room and have been catalogued are identified by number in parentheses. Dutch eighteenth century, mahogany with inlay of foliated designs in colored woods. Old Blithewold.- Old centre table, desk chair [1976.1.1328] and stool [1976.1.1252] with arms of same type of furniture. Arm chair [1976.1.1161] also chair for 092b:dressing table of mahogany with inlay work. 18th century [18th century in different ink]. Old Blithewold. Screen, curtains, bed lambrequins and coverlets also couch and chair coverings of brown material with border of foliated design. Old Blithewold. Chimney piece of gray marble from the Alexander Wadsworth 093a:house Bowdoin Street Boston. Mr. Wadsworth was a cousin of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.- Old Dutch tiles around the fireplace.- Fire-dogs brass. French seventeenth century. [1976.1.1208] Fire-irons Old Blithewold.- [1976.1.1213] Pair candlesticks. French, period Louis XIV bell [?] metal.- Sewing chair, van Wickle. 093b:Screen frame of mahogany, modern, in the early English style. Banner of embroidery mounted in brown silk. The panel of embroidery is oval in form and of Italian seventeenth century workmanship, it is done in colored silks "au passé" 094a:Photo of Master Bedroom looking towards fireplace The twin beds are on the right with the armless rocker in the right foreground. The inlaid arm chair is left foreground. The daybed is in front of the fireplace. An arm chair and armless chair are seen in the northeast corner on either side of the dressing table All chairs and beds are covered in the existing light colored embrodiered fabric. A large plain rug covers a portion of the floor. The wallpaper is bright and obscures the detail of the objects on the mantle except candlesticks on either end and the clock in the middle. The drapes are dark colored floor length trimmed with a wide, dark lace border along the inner edge and valance. 094b:[caption for photograph on 094a] Own Bed-Room showing the furniture and hangings from Old Blithewold also the Wadsworth chimney piece and hand painted wall-paper in the Dutch style. 095a:screen con[tinued]. The subject represents cherubs in adoration. A cross done in gold thread forms the center of the panel. 095b:Blank 095c:Loose photo of Master Bedroom looking towards the north windows. The dressing table is in the center with a chair with a round top rail seated before it. An embrodiered arm chair is to the right and the dresser is to the left.
