Description |
This lavender and cream chiffon and lace gown has a velvet skirt and train. The sleeves, shoulders and bodice are trimmed with rhinestone, pearl, and seed bead embroidery. The velvet and chiffon covered cream satin skirt has a five hook closure (nine on the bodice). The bodice is pale lavender chiffon with a wide gathered belt. There are drape sleeves in ivory chiffon over shorter interior sleeves of tulle. An embroidered tulle (metallic gold thread) panel is on center front. The v-neckline in back is lavender chiffon trimmed with beaded embroidery. A silk and velvet rose is sewn to the front at the waist. The skirt is cream satin draped on either side with three tiers of embroidered ivory tulle, each 19" long. (This is the same fabric as the bodice front panel). Lavender velvet is draped from the front center waist forming an overskirt at the sides and a train in back, which is lined with blue chiffon. At center back, from belt to floor, there is a lavender chiffon drape with rhinestone trim and beaded tassel. A label reads: "Fox / 10 East 57th Street / Paris-New York." Written in pencil on an interior belt is "1913." |
