Description |
This is one of a set of four Dutch Delft blue and white dessert plates. They are painted in Chinese taste with stylized flowers and scrolls and a yellow ochre rim. While these have been traditionally catalogued as a set, 1976.1.4794.1 is somewhat different from the other three identical plates. The outer border is different; the central motif is smaller on .1 and the three outer flowers are of different form. Two of these plates can be identified in the Blithewold Wooden album photographs of the dining room circa 1915. |
