Linens, Napkin |
Description |
One of a set of eight napkins (see 1976.1.0779.1a-h for matching placemats). Napkin is made of green (olive / pale evergreen), loosely woven linen. It has a pulled-thread design in one corner, using green and white thread /yarn, with an L-shape. White thread edging. "Pulled thread work", also known as "Drawnwork" or "Drawn thread work," is a form of counted-thread embroidery based on removing threads from the warp and/or the weft of a piece of even-weave fabric. The remaining threads are grouped or bundled together into a variety of patterns. From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drawn_thread_work |
