Description |
One-piece ivory silk satin and lace dress with Directoire waistline. The dress is both machine and hand stitched. The floor-length dress has a small train on a full skirt. Center back opening with hook and eye closures. The skirt is unlined and has a deep hemline facing. The foundation bodice has 11 baleen bones, with a lace modesty panel. The lace bodice has matching full lace sleeves with bobbinet undersleeves and additional embroidered bobbinet trim. Additional bodice trims include metallic thread-wrapped bobbles at front and ivory silk tassels and a Chinese-style woven fabric knot at back. Large pink rose at center. Double sleeves of embroidered and plain net. Inner sleeves are attached to bodice. Outer sleeves are part of lace drape. Fringed panel (9/5" x 40") of same gold lace is attached to waist at back. Elaborate motifs of knotted and bound silk baubles hang from the back of the bodice. A length of yellow/gold machine lace forms an ornamental bodice drape which extends to the back and falls over the skirt; it is anchored at bodice front with a cluster of fabric roses. The high waist is defined with a pleated cummerbund waistband. A gold lace drape with sleeves comes over shoulders down to a V over the cummerbund at waist.
