Description |
This is a leather covered wooden box. The leather is tacked in a decorative pattern with copper tacks. The inside of the box is covered with wallpaper with a floral basket design of cream, rose and salmon flowers. The top has an oval handle similar to a drawer pull surrounded by the copper tack pattern. The bottom has four round metal feet. There is a keyhole which might have once been covered in metal. Inside the box is silk pillow, cream on top and light green on the bottom. The two sides are handsown with tiny stitches. On the top is embrodiered: Betty McKee her box. This box was given to Bessie by William McKee. He often called her "Betty". |
