Description |
Cream linen decorative hand towel with a "huck" weave and muted damask design. Damask design has with vertical bands, some plain, some depicting vines and leaves. Hem line has band of pulled-thread work, about 1" above hem. Towel is edged with crocheted lace design. Huck Toweling refers to the fabric weave, popular in the early 1900s. It has double threaded vertical loops in brick-like rows across the fabric. Thought to increase absorbency. Most often referred to as Monk's Cloth today. |
