Description |
This bowl is part of a twenty piece china set including a serving / punch bowl, platter, and 18 dessert size plates. The set was manufactured by Charles Ford, Cannon St., Hanley, Staffordshire Potteries which was in existence between 1874 and 1904. Based upon the swan marks on the underside, this set was manufactured c. 1900 to 1904. There is also a stamp for T. Goode & Co., South Audley Street, Grosvenor Square, London. This company was established in 1827 and today describes itself as "London's foremost tableware emporium." The white porcelain pieces are decorated with a design of purple and yellow hand painted crocus and white snow drops growing out of lime green grass and darker green leaves. The bowl has the same pattern inside and outside. The crocus border is banded top and bottom with gold. The bowl has three gold bands around the foot. |
