Description 5/1/2024: A two-piece ensemble of blue silk satin with beaded blue net and lace elements. The bodice features a pink satin draped torso and short sleeves of ivory and gold embroidered-net lace. Blue net overlays the entire bodice and extends into sheer long sleeves. The net is ornamented with large blue glass beads. Peacock feather motifs composed of small glass beads and silver metal thread embroidery embellish the front and back torso. A blue satin sash encircles the waistline, extending into a streamer with a bow and beaded fringe. A pleated panel of ivory net fills the décolletage. Fragments of sheer ivory silk indicate that the lace upper bodice was once lined with this fabric; the lace sleeves have retained their ivory net linings. The bodice fastens at center front with metal hooks and eyes. The bodice contains a petersham stamped with Fox/ 10 57th Street/ Paris - New York. The blue satin skirt features a net overskirt that is embellished with intermittently placed, large blue lozenge-shaped glass beads. Dense beading at the hemline is worked into a peacock feather pattern. This hemline is faced with blue satin. A second skirt of blue net is layered under the beaded overskirt; long strands of beads and sequins in blue shades extend from the hips on this element. Several layers of net ruffles are mounted to the satin underskirt. The skirt fastens at center back with hooks and eyes under a short net peplum.
