Description |
This international Chinese costume is a woman's pajama-style top in mint green silk damask, which would have been worn with pants of the same fabric (1976.1.0352b). There is a photograph of Marjorie Lyon wearing these silk pajamas. The ivory soutache trim on hem, side edges, cuffs and collar is beautifully stitched. The three inch wide stand up collar has three frog closures center front with green glass beads. A rectangular paper tag ( 4 1/2" L x 1 1 /2" wide) written in Chinese characters is attached to a shoulder frog closure. The initial translation indicates a name (possibly the tailor) and measurements: height, arm length, wrist circle, waist, leg, collar circle, pant length. |
