Description |
Small, round, cushion-lidded Coalport porcelain (china) box marked on the bottom as a souvenir of the "1893 Chicago Exhibition." (WCE) Porcelain glazed with a pale pink finish decorated with gold-painted side panels and circular scroll detailing on lid and bottom. Lid is close fitting. On sides of box are alternating panels of a basket-weave design and panels studded with raised aqua (painted?) dots. Interior of the box is cream-colored with speckled gold glazing. There is an old and undecipherable paper label adhered to the bottom of the box. |
