Description |
This is a trunk of paperboard covered with a layer of heavy paper which is painted with geometric designs in squares. There are two wooden horizontal straps across the base and three across the top. There are four black vertical metal straps. The side fasteners were once leather but are now eroded and the leather side handles are gone. The inside is covered with cream colored paper with a blue design. There are no tray boards. Found inside the trunk is a well preserved copy of the New York Times dated October 9, 1916. |
