This World War I patch is part of a collection of 56 military patches. The patch is the insignia of the "Ninety-second (Buffalo) Division Negro Troops." The silhouette of a buffalo has been embroidered in black thread on Army green fabric, which may have been part of a uniform. The patch is backed with stiff interfacing. See 1976.1.0440.1 for all military patches and 1976.1.0440.56 for "THE SUNDAY HERALD, THE SYMBOLS OF OUR FIGHTING ARMIES, May 4, 1919." |
