Description |
The painting is a still life of rope on a hook surrounded by various sea shells. Colors are black, green, blue, yellow and tan. As a child Marjorie took painting lessons one summer with Mrs. Lulu Pratt, and another with Hannah Drury, both of Bristol. One of her earliest watercolors was done in 1897 when she was 13. Another watercolor dates to around 1900 when she was 16 years old. Marjorie's love of painting blossomed in her late 60's after her husband, George Lyon, died. |
